In Memory

William Grant

William Grant

Mr. Smith, thank you for your letter to my brother, Bill.  He would have been very pleased to receive it, but he passed away a couple of weeks ago.  He was my dear friend as well as my brother, and I miss him greatly.  If it would be appropriate to include an obituary among your notices to classmates, you might use the following which I prepared for his church and other groups in California.

William Richard Grant passed away on October 27, 2014 in Sebastopol, California after struggling bravely with a long illness.  He was a musician and composer who played piano, organ, and electronic keyboard.  He was also a fine singer.  He had an excellent education, and read and traveled widely.  Among the accomplishments of which he was most proud was his creative contribution to the Burning Man festival.  During the last months of his illness he received extraordinary, loving care from the Sutter Care at Home Hospice and his caregivers.  He is survived by a brother, sister, and two nieces.
