Drue was a great guy in our class.  I am shocked at his passing.  I am anxious to know how he passed.

I met Drew in 5th grade at Ludlow elementary school. I had moved from Cleveland ( Gracemount elementary school) to Shaker's Ludow area,so I was the "new kid" . We lived on Albion and I think Drew lived on Keswick. He made me feel welcome along with many other of my classmates. Drew was my friend. He was such a nice person and I always think of him fondly. I was dissapointed that he could not make it to the reinion due to ill health.God Bless you dear Drew,it was a privilege to know you!

Drue was one of my oldest friends at Shaker; our fathers were in the same class in college, our parents stayed friendly throughout their lives, and I don’t remember a time when I didn’t know Drue.  We followed our fathers, and also were college classmates.  We had several plans to meet up, but over the years things kept coming up to block our getting together.  I am saddened to learn of this; I also did not make the reunion (three grandchildren’s birthdays the same weekend) and was unaware of his illness.  He will be missed.

My condolences for Drue. I remember him as being soft spoken, sweet, funny and a great guy. Too many classmates dying. RIP.

I spent some time talking to Drue at the 50 year reunion. He was not in very good physical shape. I had several classes with him and remember him as a handsome, kind, and very intelligent person.  He was usually the smartest kid in the class.  I remember when he announced that he was going to Harvard. I believe he wanted to be a lawyer and I'm sure he would have been a good one.

Unfortunately things didn't work out and he had to return to Cleveland.

Drew was a kidney transplant survivor.  His health had been going downhill for a while and he was using a walker at the reunion.  Over the last several months he was basically in the hospital most of the time.  Ron Adrine would stop by to see him, which was very nice. I would hear how he was doing through Stanford Robinson who keeps in contact with Ron.  It is so sad that things had to end this way for Drue.

We've lost a great guy...........

After reading the post that Dennis wrote,I feel so sad that Drew was there and I missed him. Sanford wasn't sure if he was going to be able to make it because of his health. I'm glad he made it and got to visit with some classmates but I sure wish I could have talked with him.
