Thank you Torchy!  You really are amazing!  You should be out in LA with some of our classmates!

Thank You Torchy!!  You have made the last year and a half very memorable!  I will miss  the excitment of seeing what you have in store for our class as I turn on my computer.  In the beginning, you had us all looking for names of fellow classmates.  Then you and the committee put on an extrodinary event that will last in our memories forever!  And finally, You made so many clever and funny posts of our interviews !  You should be in LA with Bennet!  Thank you again and again.  I will miss you being part of my day!                                         Mary Beth Crane

Thanks Mary Beth. I hope Bennett reads your posting. Coincidentally many years ago I tried to get my daughter internships in LA.   Bennett set up an interview for his program but the position went to the producers niece. He was super nice about it and we spent most of the day with him at NBC and sat in with the writers as they were thinking up a new episode. Bennett was the head writer for the show. About three years later my daughter was a producer with the “E” channel for “True Hollywood Stories”. They did a program on what really happened to all the “Save By The Bell” kids. One of my daughters co workers came over to Bennett's house to do an interview with him which was an integral part of the program. Disney was right...It is a small world after all.

I would like to wish Rocco Deluca a speedy recovery from a 6 hour open heart surgery.

He is in the hospital and on the mend. He is progressing fine and will be home soon.

I would also like to wish Alan Ippolito a speedy recovery from the contaminated water dilemma in the Flint Michigan area. I hope his family and friends in his area the best while dealing with the crisis.

I would also like to now go easier on my worst teacher at Shaker. She was Miss Lung-Must who taught American History. At least she did not say Death To Israel and support Issis like that history professor at Kent State.

Rocco, just think how tough you were when in high school. You are too strong to let this surgery get you down. Looking forward to seeing you healthy and tough as ever.    Les Kelvin

Rocco,

Per usual, I'm slow and late to the party.  I'm sorry that you had to undergo the surgery, but estatic that it went well.  Take care of yourself.  You can't eat like you did when you were 18 anymore, if you plan on staying here longterm!

Ron

THE FOLLOWING IS A POSTING FROM DENIS BAYER.

Many of you probably remember that our classmate, Marc Brenner has been battling Lymphoma now for over a year. Although, huge strides have been made in fighting this disease, Marc has a particularly aggressive type. He was too sick to attend the 50th reunion, but printed up and donated all those SHS Handbooks that were given out.

Marc went through a great deal of chemotherapy at Cleveland clinic, but the Lymphoma returned. So, he again went through some heavy duty chemo and radiation to prepare for a transplant. On September 10 he had what is called an autologous bone marrow transplant, using his own cells after they have been “cleaned up”. Unfortunately, this too failed. At that point he was put into a clinical trial as his options were running out. It was not successful. He has been very sick and in pain. We had been emailing, but the emails stopped coming and it was very worrisome. I then received an email from his wife telling me about all Marc has been going through. We have emailed back an forth a few time and she has kept me up to date on what is going on. Of course she is overwhelmed and Marc is not in the mood to write at this point.

Today, I received an email from Diane, his wife, telling me that hospice is now involved. She had known this, but wanted to wait until their children were told before letting me know.

Diane set up a Caring Bridge site several months ago to give updates, but she has been so busy with everything that she hasn’t been able to post too often. The site can be accessed by going to caringbridge.org and typing in Marc Brenner.

Marc has put up and amazing and courageous fight! We should all be thinking about him now!

Dennis Bayer

Thank you Dennis for letting us know, it was a beautiful tribute to Marc's spirit. The fact that he reached out to his classmates in his last months to make sure they had the handbook for the reunion is beyond thoughtful. We can only be grateful that he is free of pain at last.......Nancy Livingston

I am so sad that Marc has been so strong and positive without the results we all hoped for. He has not been defeated. He has fought the fight and we can only hope that he will be pain and worry free. Cancer sucks!  And I HATE IT!  Prayers to all of his family who have loved him so. Thank you Denis for this update.
